Private by design
A private book app, by design
Your books are nobody else's business. Volumes has no account, no profile and no ads, keeps your library in your own iCloud, and does the clever parts on your device.
Private by design
How it works
No account
There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to. Your library lives on your devices and in your own private iCloud database, which we cannot read.
Worked out on your device
Turning words into a filter, reading the text on a page you photograph, scanning barcodes and checking a book against your library with Visual Intelligence all happen on your device.
Looking a book up
To fill in a book's details, Volumes sends its ISBN or your search words to a public book database. The request carries no identifier for you or your device.
A lending link nobody else can read
A hand-over link carries the book in the part of the link browsers never send to a server, so neither we nor our host can see what you lent or to whom.
Usage counts you can switch off
Volumes counts which features get used and reports crashes, never what's in your library. Switch off Share Usage & Diagnostics in Settings and it stops.
Notes behind Face ID
Lock Your Notes keeps the notes on your quotes hidden until you unlock them with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
Questions
Good to know
Does Volumes show ads or track me?
No. There are no ads, and Volumes doesn't track you across other apps or websites.
Where is my library stored?
On your devices, and synced through your own private iCloud database. Codelia Studios can't read it.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. Settings, Erase Library removes every book, list, quote and loan from all your devices. The privacy policy explains how to clear what's left in iCloud.
